Why sex should come last in any relationship

It is utterly difficult to try to convince this generation that sex is not the basis of a relationship; this is because we are living in times that sex has become so cheap. It is no longer a seal of a long lasting relationship. It has metamorphosed into a proof of love and a gift which can be awarded to anyone without any moral consideration. Away from religious justifications which people have outgrown and seemingly despised, here are four main reasons why sex should wait for marriage:

1. It carries your dignity

We are animals yes, but special animals remember. While dogs may prefer gratifying their sensual pleasures anywhere anytime, we must behave differently. Human beings are animals with dignity and it is for this reason they walk around in clothes. The moment you expose your nakedness to everyone outside there, respect is lost.

2. The aim of sex in marriage is not self-satisfaction

The difference between sex before and after marriage is that in the former, the drive is all about satisfying self while the latter should be to satisfy your partner. When you ask young people who are in a relationship why they do sex, they will only give responses that justify the urge to manage their libido. In marriage, it is your obligation to satisfy your partner, a commitment that is only a characteristic of marriage.

3. Sex as the last gift

There are so many gifts that you can give to your date, there are flowers that come late in the afternoon when she is bored, there can be the key to the most expensive car or just a piece of cake. All these are all meant to appreciate the presence of someone in your life and you can give it to everyone alike. Sex though, is the last and the best gift you can give to someone you are willing to spend your life with.

4. Anxiety keeps love rolling

It is commonly said that since sex became cheap, love has gone by the wind. Love is very strange feeling, it has a picture of what is the future should look like and so very anxious about it. Relationships should be founded on love but not sex. Keep it for tomorrow and you will leave each day in love. Do not be shaken if your partner is in a rush, the longer they can wait the deeper the love they have for you.

Sex, above all, is a sacred practice that should not be exposed to the sun all day long. It should be pushed to the very far end of any relationship that has a dream for the future.
