Pokemon Sword and Shield announced

A look into the new world of Galar

With a new Pokemon Direct this morning came a massive announcement from Gamefreak and the Pokemon Company. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the first installment of the main Pokemon series on the Nintendo Switch, which was happily met this morning with the announcement of Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.

The short taste of the new game introduces players to the beautiful landscapes of the Galar region featuring lush fields, shiny new caves to explore, and bustling cityscapes all offering the great variety of hiding places for fans beloved Pokemon.

Like the games prior, the next generation of Pokemon also introduces fans to three new starters; the fire Pokemon Scorbunny, the water Pokemon Sobble, and the grass Pokemon Grookey.

While not much is shown as representation of their gameplay and abilities, it can be assured that these Pokemon will be just as fearsome in their evolved forms like every starter before.

Of course, players can also expect to see a variety of Pokemon added to the roster of already familiar creatures in the franchise. It is difficult to predict, but it can also be assumed that there will also be game exclusives to each title, much like there are in previous games.

While the trailer made perfectly clear that the game was still in development, the games are gearing up to be well polished and a welcome addition as the new generation of Pokemon for gamer’s to fall in love with. While no set release date was given, players can expect to see this game released for grabs late in the 2019 year.
